‘conversation’
‘Conversation.’
This sketch is one version of a comic panel I’m ‘working on.’ The inspiration came while watching a friend wield his BlackBerry at a family dinner table. He looked like a little kid with a Gameboy: hunched forward, smartphone in lap and stored just out of his mother’s line of sight.
Far be it from me to judge: I may not own a BlackBerry, but I have owned (several) GameBoys that made their way to the family table. Discreetly ducking my head down to consult with Mario on his latest efforts to save the princess may not be as enlightening as checking in with Dow Jones, but the need to escape and participate in a digital World is the same.
I started to write an entry (^) about it for the (i.e.) blog, but somehow never finished. Come to think of it, I’m not sure I even resolved what the final panel would look like. Perhaps a more technical rant on that later….or even better: a comic strip!
But for now, no answers. (And oh, yeah: hi!)
